How to play
Paintball Bot Arena 3D is a first-person paintball match for a computer with a mouse and a keyboard, set in a random valley of hills, pine trees and rocks. You start in the middle with a paintball marker, and eight AI bots spread out around you. Each bot has 100 health points, shown on a bar above its helmet. Empty the bar and the bot bursts into paint; a fresh one then joins the fight elsewhere, well away from you.
The bots shoot back. Every hit costs you health, and at zero the bots score a point and you respawn near the centre with full health, a full magazine and a three-second shield. Your health slowly comes back after 5.5 seconds without being hit, and five green medkits floating around the arena give +45 HP when you walk into them. A used medkit reappears elsewhere 8 seconds later.
Game modes and difficulty
- Arena: the first side to reach 15 points wins – your eliminations against the number of times the bots eliminated you. If nobody gets there within 3 minutes, the side with more points wins, otherwise the match is a draw. The clock turns red in the last 20 seconds.
- Endless Arena: no clock and no target score.
The difficulty changes how the bots shoot, not how they move:
- Recruit: a shot about every 2.5 seconds, slow paintballs (54 m/s), a wide spread and 12 damage per hit, so nine hits eliminate you.
- Veteran (default): every 1.75 seconds, 66 m/s and 18 damage – six hits.
- Elite: every 1.15 seconds, fast 78 m/s paintballs, a tight spread and 25 damage – only four hits.
Controls
- Look: click Enter the arena and the browser captures the mouse pointer, so the mouse turns the view; Esc gives it back and pauses. If the pointer is not captured, hold a mouse button and drag.
- Shoot: left mouse button. The magazine holds 30 paintballs and reloads by itself when it is empty; R reloads earlier and takes less than a second.
- Scope: click the right mouse button to raise the sniper scope and click it again to lower it. The mouse wheel changes the magnification between 2× and 6×. In the scope you walk more slowly and cannot sprint.
- Move: W A S D or the arrow keys, Shift to sprint while the energy bar lasts, Space to jump.
- Menu: game mode, bot difficulty, mouse sensitivity, language and New arena (a new valley and a new match). The game text is English by default; switch it to Slovak (Slovenčina) under Language, and the browser remembers the choice. F or the Full screen button fills the screen.
Scoring
An elimination is worth 200 points and a headshot 300. A hit on the helmet or its glowing visor always eliminates a bot at once. Body hits take 40 health from the hip and 75 through the scope, so a bot needs three body hits from the hip or two through the scope.
Eliminations in quick succession raise a combo multiplier: a kill within 4.5 seconds of the previous one adds one, up to ×5, and multiplies the points of that kill. After 4.5 seconds without a kill, or when you are eliminated, it falls back to ×1. A headshot at ×5 is worth 1,500 points. Misses cost nothing but lower your accuracy.
How the bots behave
Every bot steers by its distance to you. More than 48 m away it advances towards you while weaving; closer than 18 m it backs off while strafing; in between it strafes sideways and changes direction every 1.4 to 3.2 seconds. Bots walk at 5.2 to 7 m/s, slide around trees and rocks and open fire when you are within 92 m.
A bot aims at your chest and raises its aim to allow for the drop of the paintball, but it does not lead a moving target. Trees, rocks and hills stop paintballs from both sides, so cover really works. The radar shows bots as red dots up to 95 m away (farther ones sit on its edge) and medkits as green squares.
Tips
- Keep moving sideways: the bots shoot at where you are, not where you will be.
- Aim at the visor: one headshot does the work of two scoped body hits.
- Use the scope beyond about 50 m. When its centre is on a bot, it reads “target locked” and corrects the shot for the drop by itself.
- Reload with R behind a tree, not in the open.
- At full health you walk straight through medkits, so save them for later.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the mouse pointer disappear?
The game uses the browser’s Pointer Lock so that the mouse can turn the view without hitting the edge of the screen. Press Esc to get the pointer back; the match pauses.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
No. Walking, aiming and the scope need a keyboard and a mouse at the same time, so the game is meant for a computer.
Can I play in Slovak?
Yes. Choose Slovenčina under Language in the menu. All game text switches at once, and this browser remembers the choice.
Is my score saved?
No. The best score lasts until you close or reload the page, and nothing is sent anywhere.
The game is slow. What can I do?
The arena and its shadows are drawn with WebGL. Close other heavy tabs, turn on hardware acceleration or use a smaller window.
