How to play
Bot Arena: Protocol Survive is a tactical first-person shooter in a closed 3D arena. There is no multiplayer: just you, cover and autonomous robots that hunt you by sight and sound. Choose a mode, a map, your starting weapon and the difficulty, then click Start simulation.
You have 100 health and a 60-point energy shield. Hits drain the shield first; after 5.5 seconds without damage it recharges by 11 points a second. Health comes back only from green supply boxes (+40) and between waves (+25). The game is made for a computer with a mouse and a keyboard. Its screens are in English; under Settings → Language you can switch them to Slovak (Slovenčina), and the browser remembers the choice.
Game modes
- Wave survival: three waves of 3, 4 and 5 robots; the second and third waves each bring a heavy. Clearing a wave gives you a 6-second break, 25 health, a full shield and an extra magazine for every weapon.
- Training: two scouts and a guard that move at 65 % speed, react half a second later and aim half as well. Ammunition is unlimited and there is no time limit.
- Elimination: destroy 12 robots within 3 minutes. Up to four are in the arena at once, and a new one arrives right after one falls.
- Point defence: robots march on a control zone near the centre. Hold it for 90 seconds; if three robots reach it, the simulation fails. New robots keep coming every few seconds, up to six at once.
Maps and weapons
Cargo Depot (58 × 50 m) is a warehouse with containers and several routes between them, Circuit Lab (40 × 38 m) a compact room with short firing lines and Nexus Core (64 × 58 m) an open tech field with low platforms. Each map has orange crates that break after a few hits (+25 points) and four supply boxes in the corners, two for health and two for ammo, which come back 23 seconds after you pick them up.
You carry all three weapons and switch with 1, 2, 3 or Q:
- Pistol: 15 rounds, 23 damage per hit, 4 shots a second, 1.9× scope.
- Rifle: 30 rounds, 15 damage, 8.5 shots a second, 2.4× scope.
- Precision rifle: 6 rounds, 96 damage, one shot every 1.1 seconds, 5× scope.
Bullets are real projectiles that fly at 92 to 170 m/s and drop slightly, so a distant or moving robot needs a little lead. The scope cuts the spread to about a fifth; moving makes it wider.
Controls
- Mouse: move to look, left button to shoot (hold it for continuous fire), hold the right button for the scope, where the view turns more slowly.
- Keyboard: W A S D or the arrows move, Shift sprints, Space jumps, C or Ctrl crouches, R reloads.
- Game: Esc releases the mouse and pauses, Tab or H opens the rules and F fills the screen. Settings hold mouse sensitivity, volume, field of view (65–105°), reduced motion and the language.
How the robots behave
A robot sees up to 35 m, but only through open space: cover blocks its view and its shots. It must keep you in sight for a moment before it engages – about 0.3 s for a scout, 0.4 s for a guard and 0.8 s for a heavy on Standard. Your shots alert every robot within 30 m, and a robot that has lost you goes to where it last saw or heard you. Robots find their way around obstacles, step sideways while they fight and back away when badly damaged.
- Scout (cyan): 60 HP and the fastest; fires from 15 m and keeps about 9 m away. 120 points.
- Guard (amber): 105 HP; fires from 21 m and keeps about 13 m away. 200 points.
- Heavy (red): 210 HP and slow; within 20 m it stands still. Before it fires it charges for 0.9 s with a flash and a deep hum, then sends three projectiles in a fan. 320 points.
A hit on the head does 60 % more damage, and a kill that way adds 50 points. Difficulty changes only the robots: on Assisted they are 26 % slower, 30 % weaker and less accurate; on Challenge they are 18 % faster, hit 25 % harder and react, fire and aim better.
Tips
- Fight from cover and peek out: a robot that cannot see you cannot shoot you.
- Shoot the heavy while it charges, or step behind cover until its fan of shots has passed.
- Crouch with C rather than Ctrl while you hold W: in many browsers Ctrl + W closes the tab.
- In Point defence, stay near the zone: robots head for it and only turn to fight you within 13 m.
Frequently asked questions
Why does the mouse pointer disappear?
The game uses the browser’s Pointer Lock, so the mouse can turn the view without hitting the edge of the screen. Esc gives the pointer back and pauses the game.
Can I play on a phone or tablet?
No. Moving, looking and shooting need a keyboard and a mouse at the same time.
Can I switch the game to Slovak?
Yes. In Settings choose Slovenčina under Language: the menus, the HUD and the messages change at once. The rest of this page stays in English.
Is my score saved?
